Lagar do Sol

A house among the olives.

Lagar do Sol is a fictional eighteen-room monte between Estremoz and Vila Viçosa. The experience follows a guest’s day through an old olive press, inherited rooms, a working estate, and a house that hosts personally rather than behaving like a resort.

The premise

A stay is a sequence, not an inventory.

Hotel sites often begin with dates, rates, and interchangeable room cards. Lagar do Sol begins with the gate opening, a key waiting, bread arriving warm, and shade moving across limewash.

The product still provides practical room and stay information, but it earns that decision by first making the rhythm and physical character of the house understandable.

Product principles

The world becomes a working system.

  1. 01

    Host through prepared acts

Keys, coffee, bread, shade, water, and dinner carry the hospitality. The copy names what the house prepares instead of relying on luxury adjectives.

  2. 02

    Let rooms remain different

Nascente opens east to the grove, Pátio belongs to the courtyard, and Olival retains the old family apartment. The content model protects those spatial distinctions.

  3. 03

    Use place, not theme

Limewash, local stone, oak, linen, aged brass, retained tile, and working olive land provide evidence of Alentejo without turning it into decoration.

  4. 04

    Invitation before transaction

Planning a stay is framed as correspondence with the house. Dates and preferences begin a personal reply rather than an impersonal checkout flow.
